What happens next?

Important steps to complete after downloading your motion.

  1. Print your motion. Print the downloaded PDF — the court requires a physical filed copy.
  2. File with the court clerk. Submit the motion to the court listed on your case and pay any applicable filing fee.
  3. Serve the plaintiff. Provide a copy of the filed motion to the plaintiff (or their attorney) following your court's service rules.
  4. Keep proof of filing & service. Retain stamped copies and any certificate of service for your records.
  5. Attend your hearing. Appear on the scheduled hearing date — the court will rule on your motion.
